SNOW! which turned into sleet, then hail, and now rain. i may stay indoors today still, it's amazing how a winter blues and a bad night's sleep go away when you see snow i was like "ow... blah... geh... huh? ooh, snow!" lol
anyways, i haven't updated in ages, so what's new?
well, nothing, really

um, Ed Byrne was great. i spotted a Dara joke in the show but i figure they're mates, they can swap material it was the last venue of his tour and during the encore his wife starts waving at people through the curtains and he's like "...what?" *turn around and she's gone* "...what??" well eventually he spots her and proceeds to chase her through the curtains for a bit before making her come out and say hello. she looked like what you'd envision ross noble's wife to be; english, dressed in black, slightly goth/metal, with mad dark hair.

me and nikita did have a stall, despite the pouring rain, blair helped, and i made £18. we did make a fish mobile, and would you believe it was the first thing to go? i didn't get a photo of it but there's a little drawing in my scraps. what's even better is a few days later my cousin holly and her friend came up to see me, were interested in seeing what i'd been selling, and spent £11 between them XD hehe. so good haul, overall: nearly £30 and still stuff left over did i ever upload pictures of my mini dreamcatchers? hm, no. i'll do that now they're cute.

I got a C1 for the semester at uni (for those who don't know, it goes A1,2,3/B1,2,3/C1,2,3/etc) which is the same as i got last year, which in itself means i've improved slightly as standards go up in 3rd year they liked me ideas, my research was very much improved, but somehow the outcomes fell flat. i agree, i dont know what was missing but they definately lacked something.
oh btw my religion documentary is online [link] watch it, it's good
tutors thought it was nicely done, great sound, but i believe 'liberal' was the word used heh. they thought people were holding back so as not to offend, and in most cases, they're right. i don't know, i think it was the camera, made people nervous. I wanna do another documentary next semester, but i'll stick to sound recording, see if people are more comfortable with that.
it'll be about, wait for it .... Love! like religion, it's something you don't really talk about to people in depth, isn't it? I wanna find out if idealised love exists, if an ideal of love is damaging to relationships, how plutonic love and romantic love compare, what the science is, if people can fall out of love, and what falling in love is like for different people. if any of you can help me out with that, whether you'd like to be interviewed (in the case of anyone in walking distance of me, you may have little choice in the matter i'm determined to get real emotion and lots of it, i'm not settling for a C again) or if you have any thought or insight into the subject, anything you want to say or describe, leave me a note or a comment, would you?

ah, hello again. i've just been speaking to my friend nikita and we're going to share a craft stall in carnoustie on the 5th. it's from ten til two at the old kinloch primary school or something, feel free to pop along if you're in the area. i was at a good lecture today by a lovely old man called brian miller. one of his older pieces inspired me and i'm seeing if nikita will collaborate with me on making a glass and wire mobile for selling at our stall. there's a little drawing in my scraps, but it'll get deleted once she gives her opinion most likely so go look now if you want to. go go go! lol.

hm, what else. oh yeah, adrianna's birthday, i could use some help here: i have a dress i've been dying to wear but i'm not sure it's special enough. how is everyone else dressing? are you gonna be uber glitzy in formal dresses and kilts or are you just wearing nice things? i wanna know if i have to break out the glittery dress and sparkly shoes or if my flouncey summer dress with some sequinned accessories, maybe a shawl, fancy tights and comfortable heels will do. i can live with being overdressed but underdressed bugs me.

and yes, i STILL have my favourites competition stuff, various memes, and prizes from my previous journal to do. unless you haven't noticed, i've barely been drawing. i guess my minds just elsewhere with all my uni stuff to complete this month. some of my projects proved far too ambitious and frankly haven't turned out that great, but hey, i tried.

i haveto go deal with some uni stuff tomorrow. i bought two 4gig discs from the college shop but neither have worked on my computer and i would rather not have to spend that much money again. i'm gonna see if they can re-emburse me for at least one. i swear the bloody things don't work at all. i tried them in various computers. i'm guessing there's some compatability problem. the college all use macs so it's possible. if they can see way to giving me one for free and it works on a mac, then i will be happy enough. if it still does't work i'm just gonna ask for a refund and buy them elsewhere. bah.

i'm really getting bored of my uni work. sure it's all my own ideas and my own thing but my GOD it gets tedious. i think this is the first time i've been fed up of self-motivated practise, and actually looking forward to the holidays just so i don't have to work anymore. usually i'm like 'yay, holidays, i can draw and do my own work' but now i'm like 'lease just let us break for christmas so i can lie in bed all day and not use my brain for weeks at a time' and you know what, if i had a mini fridge i'd totally do that. i'm not worried or complaining, it's just the first time i've wanted a break from my own ideas. i'm guesing though that everyone has felt like that at some point, especially close to the holidays

anyways i am totally ranting, god you must be bored if you made it all the way down here. better get some sleep. so long all x

Hello to you! My name is Figuel, and my nickname is Fi. Figuel –if you’re interested in my native language- come from the Rathe words ‘Fitna-i’ meaning the upper half of the face, usually the eyes, and ‘Aguel’ meaning angel or spirit. My name translates into ‘Ghost Eyes’ because mine are so pale in colour ^_^

02. And your current age?
I am 38. If I were human I’d be in my twenties.

03. What do you do for a living?
I tend bar at the Rave, a nightclub in the Rathe Realm which I part-own

04. What is your favourite food?
Ooh, tricky. I don’t believe I have one. I’ll eat anything really –really anything, I lived off worms once on a particularly long uneventful trek across the Scottish highlands-, and my favourite food is whatever I desire at the time.

05. And your favourite drink?
I’m partial to whiskey and beer, but I wont say no to a bottle of red. As for non-alcoholic drinks, I like anything fruity

If I said Mimic would you judge me? Him and Tallir, but Tallir seems awfully sensitive about other men liking him so I keep it to myself (hence the ‘secret’ part ). My desire for the fairer sex is satisfied by my lovely girlfriend Karen

RED XD and black. You can’t go wrong with black. I have a soft spot for sky blue though ^_^

My favourite author? Hm. I never thought about it. My favourite poets is good ol’ Rabbie Burns. Even though I’m a Rathe I was born in Scotland and I fell in love with the culture. But anyways favourite author. I like the classics. I guess Hemmingway, or Stoker even, but to be honest I don’t read all that often.

09. What is your greatest fear?
Oooh, um… Well, I worry about getting temped away from Karen, or her thinking me liking men is weird and leaving me, which is a ridiculous thing to worry about because she’s bisexual too. But I’ve never been the strongest of creatures so maybe my greatest fear is actually being overpowered.

10. Any sibling rivalry?
Haha, no. I’m very close with my sisters, even though we’d had very little contact with each other until recently. I’m the only boy (that we know of… well, I have a half brother) so I guess there was no pressure for me to be manly in any way, which is good, because I’m not

11. Who is your hero?
Aw, I guess my lovely cousin Tristen ^_^ if it weren’t for him the Realm would have torn itself apart and I would have never gotten home. Plus I don’t care what issues he has with him, I freakin’ love his dad! I’m actually related to an actual Scottish wolf! I have a clan tartan! I’m so happy! XD ee!

FILM IDEA

The idea
- I take a camera to Chris’s and film as though the camera were the viewer at a party
- I can’t speak
- I can’t be in shot, even my hands or feet
- Chris and the others would treat me as a stranger and introduce themselves
- I would edit together conversations I observe and others have ‘with’ me
- I would partake of activities with the camera
- No one can refer to me by name or ask me questions

The aim is to let the viewer experience Chris’s party as though they were there.
- They would meet their fellow guests and be met themselves.
- They would join in with the games and activities
- They would be spoken to through the lens as if they were really there meeting strangers

Requirements
- I’d need the guys to do some acting aka. Introduce themselves as if to a stranger
- I’d need everyone to be ok with the camera, as well as pretending it was a person
- If a scene goes badly I’d possibly need people to repeat things
- I’d need conversations from a few if not all of the guests, so I’d possibly need a portion of everyone’s time
- No one could say my name or ask me a question while I’m filming, they’d have to refer to me as ‘you’ in direct conversation with the camera

- I’d try not to film for too long, afterall we’ll be there for a couple days and the movie would be under 30minutes long ideally, so I’m hopeful it wouldn’t be too much inconvenience.

Rough plan
- I’d like to open with ‘me’ arriving, Chris would open the door and say “hello”, “glad you could make it”, or whatever, “I’m Chris”, “you can put your stuff there” and “let me show you through” etc.
- I’d follow him to the living room where most of you would be, and say something like “everyone say hi, this is [eg.] Blair” and Blair would acknowledge, maybe say hi or handshake or whatever he does, and it would continue “Manby” acknowledge “Adri” acknowledge and so on so you’re all introduced.
- If there are people wandering about I could ‘bump into them’ and then they would say hello.
- And so the night would continue, I’d film at important intervals like at a change of scenery or activity and maybe get in a couple conversations with the camera, and of course I’d have to be really careful during the water fight, heh.

Bottom line, I think Chris’s parties rock, I love you all, and I want to share this unique and wonderful experience with others, and maybe get a cheeky grade improvement while I’m at it, hah.

well i'm comming along with my planned epic journal entry. i'm going to post a tag called 100 truths (completed) and 50 things i like about myself (which i fail at). it's my lil self esteem excersise. and i'm stuck half way through. i may have to play fast and loose with the word 'like' to fill the remaining 25 slots. as for the 100 truths, it's gonna be a little out of date by the time i post it. i've been randomly filling it in when i feel like it, and some of the questions are like 'what are you doing now' or 'what did you do yesterday' type things. see if you can spot the points where i gave up and did something else for a few days lol

we never have gotten round to that music video pitch with ming ming and the ching chings *disgusted noise*. it might still happen but i don't think they'll have time to fit it in this semester. infact, apart from getting our grades, i think we're done. lets hope i made it into year three huh?

i was very artistic yesterday, and ended up drawing and colouring that mimic comic, making those MSN backgrounds, scanning in my competition entry, and drawing that cute lil Kare bear thing. i also moulded some plaster and i hope to paint it today, and i painted runes on a hand-made wand and fountain pen yesterday and plan to gem-encrust one today ^_^ i'll take pictures and post them sometime, they look really pretty.
i'm also making my Halloween costume this year, i'm going to go as one of my Psyche characters, Doubt, because i loooove her dress XD and it's actually so simple to make.

i was out with some friends and some of my class the other night then ended up at blair's for a little gatherng at his. i took and with me to the big tba night out we'd all planned. yeah, five of them showed up, the other ten were apparently elsewhere, hungover or hadn't slept all week. then again, those are common excuses with my class
see my friends think it's funny to pretend my class doesn't exist because they are so elusive ¬_¬ and it isn't helped by that fact that so far, they are meeting them ONE AT A TIME. that's right, they already knew four of the five poeple that showed up because the four had -one per time- came to gatherings i'd invited them to. LOL. i took a camera for photographic evidence so i might upload some piccys.
anyway the best part of the night was just that i had a good time. i'd been really looking forward to it, and when it turned out not what i expected i thought 'f*ck it, this is the first time i've actually made it to a tba night, and i get to see blair later when i didn't think i'd see him all week, i am going to have a damn good time' and i did
optimism and enthusiasm are foreign to me, but i was all dressed up (and pleased that everyone liked my outfit and my hair ^_^) and happy and bouncey and joining in the banter. Blair actually thought i was drunk when i got to his, a measure of how improved i was that night.
i tell ya, i don't envy happy bouncey people though, it was exhausting :S i'm pretty sure i was the first asleep that night. oh i wanted to keep awake and join in with the pillow fights, but once i lay down i just couldn't get up again lol. i didn't get as much blair hugs as i'd have liked, but for once he seemed pretty chilled out. normally at parties he's either incredibly irritable or moving so fast you can't really get a second with him lol. i was also having none of the people who were dragging the party down. there's always one (or two) and it's usually me but if anyone was being grumpy i'd either leave them to it in another room or suggest they do something about it and cheer up. normally that negitivity really brings me down, but i remained determined to enjoy myself (even though we never did get around to sing star )

and as for the creepy incident, last night i was trying to sleep when randomly, this image sort of formed on my eyelids. i was most definiately awake, i asure you. i was sort of hovering down a street in Dundee at night, and i could clearly make out the faces of complete strangers as they walked past. well i was so freaked out i lost it, but it was like astral travel or a vision or something 0.0 i was very awake at the time. wierd...

i figured out i'm not very happy right now cuz i'm not happy with me. i don't like how i look, how i sound, how i think, how i feel, or what i wear. since trying to change myself was just depressing me more, i decided to meet myself in the middle: i'll go ahead with the new summer wardrobe i want, get my hair done, and look up ways to improve my self esteem.
how does this relate to you, you may wonder. well, the self esteem improvey thing i found was to take as long as you need to make a list of 50 things you like about yourself, then see if you can add one more thing to it everyday thereafter. it's taken me like a week to get up to 20, but it does feel nice when you think of something you like, so i thought i'd challenge my friends and watchers to have a go.
i'll post mine when i'm done, though you don't have to, and endevour to continue adding one a day (or maybe one a week, cuz really it's ridiculous how long it's taking me )

now, back to writing down my pitch for the music video

Male

2) What is your age?
I’m 28, that’s about 20 in human years

3) Do you want a hug?
Uh, no, I’m good thanks 0.o’

4) Do you have any bad habits?
I work too hard. Then I get stressed and- um, is my wife gonna be reading this?
Me: no, you’re ok
Ah. Well then I get stressed and end up smoking, usually. Kristien and I decided to quit together but, I’ll admit work gets on top of me sometimes.

5) What is your favourite food?
Anything fresh, meat and veg’ is fine with me.

6) What is your favourite ice cream flavour?
Heh, chocolate, maybe mint chocolate chip

7) Are you a virgin?
No, I have a wife and a daughter, who erm, aren’t related ^_^’

8) Have you killed anyone?
Well, I WAS in a war and all. Lets see, there was my cousin Lenarae who was leading the other army -she was the first- a few soldiers afterwards, a lot of vampires, and there have been some others

9) Do you hate anyone?
I hated my father for a long time, for not being there, and I hated my uncle for getting him killed and causing him not to be there, and Lenarae for all the horrible things she did… huh, mainly I hate my family, that’s a little f’ked up 0.o

10) Do you have any secrets?
Not that I can think of and certainly nothing I’d tell you

11) What is your favourite season?
I like the summer. I grew up in the Rathe Realm. It’s a hell dimension so I’m used to a hot climate.

12) Who are your best friends?
Detra who I grew up with, Kaleaco and Tallir who I met through the war, and Blain who I trained in flame elementalism

13) What are your hobbies?
I like a bit of guitar or piano to chill me out, I’m into martial arts and I’ll try anything to do with them, and there’s nothing like a good run or meditation to make me feel good
Kristien: awh, NOTHING else makes you feel good?
Well… I guess one other thing
ME: ugh, get a room you two

14) What is your favourite drink?
Whiskey or tequila, but I like green and herbal teas

15) When is your birthday?
Um… jee, now you’re asking. Well, in human terms, I think June or July, maybe my mother knows the exact date.

16) What age did you die?
Eh-heh, funny you should ask. I don’t belong in this dimension. The Tristen in this dimension died age 24 in the war, but in my dimension my ex died for me. I ended up here after my wife died because I wanted to stop it happening again here.

17) Are you nice or mean?
I would like to think nice. I was bred and raised to kill without a second thought, and I can, but even considering that I don’t think I’m ‘mean’.

18) What do you think of your creator?
She’s… lonely. She comes here when she has nowhere else to go, takes a companion for a while, then leaves. She doesn’t show it and maybe she doesn’t even know it, but all she wants is to not be alone… And all I want her to do is ay me some rent now and again T_T

(The Creator is a character by the way, she left Reality One at the end of Eternity and came to Ravendale about the time Tristen returned)

19) What is your weakness?
…Love, I guess… Lenarae exploited my love for Dezdemara, and even created my love for Danara just so she could exploit that, then love blinded me and I lost my wife; I almost lost her again when I came to this dimension.

20) How long can you stay underwater?
Heh, well being an animal mage –and a good one if I do say so myself- I have a ‘mer’ form which I can manipulate to suit any depth, so I can in theory stay under water indefinitely.

21) What do you do on a regular day?
Get up and make a bit of breakfast for everyone, I fry up some stuff if I have the time or if not just make a load of toast, so I eat quickly and get to work. I’m studying medicine and I’m currently a biology teacher at the Royal Rathe Academy from 9 to 5. I come home to dinner made by whoever’s turn it was, maybe study and watch a little TV or go out for a drink with some friends, take my wife to bed, and after that I’m tapped out.

22) Do you love someone?
I love my wife, my mother, my daughter, and my friends I suppose

23) Does that person love you back?
Heh, I should hope so XD

24) Do you like me?
Um… sure?

25) What do you consider fun in the daytime?
Lying out in the sun or running in the woods, maybe some light sparring

26) At night?
Going out to the Rave for drinks. They have good music, my cousin Figuel tends bar, and it’s nice not to be the host; when we have parties at Ravendale I worry too much

27) Do you like meatballs?
Homemade, yes. Pre-packaged reconstituted garbage, no.

28) Do you like Chef Boyardee's meatballs?
Who?

29) Are you gay?
No, very no, no matter how much Figuel says I need to ‘loosen up’

30) Say that you were trapped in a closet with your lover for 2 days straight. What do you do if you start to starve in ONLY A 2-DAY RADIUS?
Being stuck in a tight space with Kristien? Oh unknowable horrors! haha. Personally I’d endue a little starvation for her, buuut she IS part vampire, so a little mutual blood drinking wouldn’t be out of the question to keep us alive. Infact, it’s not out of the question when it’s not to keep us alive

Yeah *blush* I apologise, I’ve had a few beers. It’s as well she isn’t reading this.

32) What is your place of origin?
the Rathe Realm, a hell dimension occupying the same space as the human world only slightly out of phase, and thus we all have different human accents according to which part of the Realm we come from. The Realm was created by the Wolf Goddesses -with the help of the Fox Goddesses who live in a self-made Realm near by- to be a prison for the most evil of souls. Eventually those souls gathered enough power to make bodies for themselves, and formed a civilisation; I’m a descendant of that. I personally come form the upper Eastern (European) quarter of the Realm – the Rathe equivalent of Eastern Europe- but we moved North as we gained social status and I came to live in the Asian quarter with the upper houses (classes).

33) Large or small family?
Small close family, large extended family. There’s just me, my mother, my uncle and my sister, but my uncle had a load of kids he didn’t even know about with Queen Lucrecia, so consequently every now and then I meet a cousin I didn’t know I had. Thus far I know about Lenarae, Emilia, Lenaguel and Figuel.

34) Who are your parents?
Rosemary my mother, and Tristenienne my late father. She was a Royal assassin and he was an Alpha wolf.

35) Do you have a phobia?
Not that I’m aware of. I don’t like vampires or guns much, but that’s rational fear coming from past experiences.

36) Piercing/tattoos?
Two rings in my tail, five rings in my left ear, four in my right, and a Smoke Star tattoo on my left bicep. The Smoke Star tattoo is a Rathe award for bravery, every Rathe who stood out in the war got one.

37) Do you have a disability?
Nope.

38) What does your name mean?
My name doesn’t mean anything, much to my disappointment. Rathe names all mean something, but my name’s wolven; they just string a bunch of sounds together essentially. I encountered myself from another alternate dimension where my uncle raised me with the Queen; the name he gave me was Krow’varan, which means ' prince of darkness ’. As much as I hated that version of myself, that is a pretty damn cool name.

39) Do you have a nickname?
Well, I suppose Tristen is my nickname. My full name is Tristenienne the third, and I hate it T_T

40) Do you have any talents?
I’m a martial artist, a full elemental, and an animal mage, meaning I can kick your ass in any infinite number of ways, I can create and control any element, and I can turn into almost any creature you can think of, with practise of course. I can speak demi-rathe as well, which is a rare skill and pretty much enables me to speak to any animal. I’m also vaguely telekinetic, slightly telepathic- like most half wolves are- and I can teleport short distances. I don’t like to use the latter three skills much because frankly I think it’s a little too much power than I should have.

41) What’s your favourite colour?
Uh… Black? Gold and purple are pretty cool too I guess.

42) Imagine you’re in the middle of nowhere and a huge group of Fire Dragons are coming after you! What do you do?!
I imagine I’d be able to talk them out of it, knowing demi-rathe and all, but if not, even considering that I’m a full elemental and animal mage, I think I should just run, fly, swim or burrow the heck out of there, whichever was faster

43) Now imagine that you’re cornered. The biggest Fire Dragon approaches you and laughs maniacally, preparing to strike! NOW WHAT!?
Talk them out of it or use a water attack. I reckon I could call the earth and water themselves to my aid; the elements seem to like me, the earth is especially friendly and could make a wall between me and the dragon til I escaped

44) Boxers or briefs?
Boxers or nothing, and even then it’s a toss up on any given day Rathes and wolves in general don’t like underwear, we barely tolerate clothes, but human forms do necessitate them

45) What’s your favourite animal?
Heh, to turn into, my favourite forms are actually mythical; I can be a Pegasus, a gryphon, or a mer-wolf, the mer-wolf being my very favourite. I like being a crow too.

46) Care to tell a joke?
Um, I’m not actually that funny ^_^’

47) Any distinguishing physical features?
I’ve been told I’m quite expressive, so I guess my face I have a scar on my arm from a bullet, but I got my tattoo put on over it. I do change my hair more often than Blain and Tallir put together these days so there’s that as well.

48) What’s your favourite type of music?
Rock; metal more specifically, though I can go for a bit of classic. Like most Rathes I find music itself fascinating, since we only recently discovered it. My favourite band is Linkin Park.

49) Do you have a question for your creator?
Yes. Are you EVER going to pay me rent?

despite being possibly my worst nightmare to date, in which my friends were fighting in a war and blair wanted to kill me very a lot, the characters are pretty bad-ass and i actually enjoy reading it. i want to re-draft it and cut it up into more manageable sections
