You Will See Me

this is my good old psyche character Hate again. he's very cathartic to draw. the piece is named after the scroobius pip song of the same name, drawn while listening to it. been right into pip's music lately, which are a cathartic release for him i'm sure.

this was drawn free-hand in chalk pastel, which i'm rather proud of. i usually need guidelines to fuck to come up with any kind of realism. i'm especially happy the trial background didn't end up looking like total ass with no practice or guidelines beforehand. as you might notice i kind of misjudged where his head would end up (i started with the teeth), he was originally going to have his horns as well, but i kinda like the odd focus of it;the teeth and tongue are your focal points in the middle, and also the most colourful. the rest of him fades into darkness, and i like the way the darkness makes the eyes pop. it's like a freeze frame of him looming out of the darkness at you, and the first thing you see is that snarling maw. 

as for why i ended up making this, i've not been having a good time of it lately on an emotional front. my job was stressing me out so much i think it's done some actual damage. it's made me aggressively anti social; just very much this don't touch me, don't talk to me, don't even look at me feeling, when ordinarily i fucking love people. very distressing change. suppose public service jobs will do that to you. i left my job when i was crying at the thought of going in again.
so i suppose this is one outlet of my trying to recover. when i'm in a bad mood i really love drawing anything with teeth.
